2012 – Angus Update

2012 - Angus Update

Well Angus continues to be happy and settled. He had a bit of a wobble when Oscar arrived and took his place as top bird, but he has accepted his new place in the flock with just the occasional revolt.

No one was allowed to sit on the playstand with him, but he’s now accepted that if he doesn’t let Oscar sit on there, it might mean a bit of a fight.

Angus has also changed allegiance, he’s always been my bird, but recently I’ve had the odd nip from him when Shaun is around, and Shaun has had the drooped wings and baby noises.

Angus has a massive appetite and when all 3 cages are open and the birds are out having some exercise, he will nip into the other cages and steal the tastiest bits of food

We love him!!

Britney Moves To Her Forever Home.

Britney Moves To Her Forever Home.

After being wih me for a week, Britney has moved to her forever home.

She has gone to Glynn and Karen, AGPC forum members where she will have some feathered company in the shape of Marley.

Britney seemed to bond with Karen on sight, which was lovely for them both, I could tell Karen and Glynn fell for her immediately – let’s hope Marley feels the same !!

I left them all very happy and looking forward to setting up her cage with new toys and perches.

She is one lucky girl. I will hand the blog over to Glynn and Karen who will update regularly

New Rehome Meet – Britney Bird!

New Rehome Meet - Britney Bird!

This is Britney.

I collected her from her owner who is leaving the country for a while and so is unable to look after her and didn’t just want family to pop in and feed her. He wanted her to go to a living family who could give her the attention and time she deserves.

Britney has some plucking issues which I am hopeful will improve with lots of attention and new shredding and foraging toys and a change to her diet.

She settled with me straight away and took to all family members, male and female. Within days she was eating pellets and shredding to her hearts content. She is a good talker and has some strange noises that I can’t quite make out
The search is now on for a perfect match for ‘Britney Bird’ as she calls herself, and whoever ends up with her will be very very lucky.

It’s a pleasure to be her foster mummy.
Rachel.

Angus Lastest Update.

Angus Lastest Update.

Angus is now part of a 3 bird flock since we have had a new addition and as yet I don’t think he’s sure what to think of a bird who dares to stick up to him!
One think he has done is dorm a double act with Oscar. Angus has perfected the sound of someone knocking on the door and Oscar shouts “come in” Angus shouts “Rachel” and Oscar shouts “what?” the other things hey shout to each other are not printable, but Angus is no longer the best swearer in the house !
He continues to love chewing all things wooden and guards his favourite toys by sitting on them and hissing. He still won’t let Gary sit on his play stand – but he can’t stop Oscar so has to share whether he likes it or not.

And Oscar Makes 3!

And Oscar Makes 3!

Oscar came to stay with us for a little while in September and is still here. We had been looking into adding to our flock and because he immediately bonded with my hubby, and had been moved around quite a bit in a short space of time, it was decided he could stay with us.

We moved him in to the same room as the others and they chatted to each other from the get-go. We changed his cage and added new toys and Oscar is now converted onto a pellet diet. He gets chattier and chattier by the day and 6 or so weeks on we are still hearing new words. He is quite a character and swears like a trooper but his funniest trick yet was when he shouted “come in” to a visitor who knocked on the door, and we found them in our dining room looking bemused.
Oscar has a new friend in Gary. Angus is still wary of Oscar because he has met his match – but I have hopes that they will at least co exist without fighting – and they seem to be so far. Gary is quite nice to him and I think they will be friends one day soon.

Oscar has made a lovely addition to our flock. Welcome to the family Oscar
