Catch up on Penny!

Catch up on Penny!

It’s been a while since i updated you on Penny, things are quite hectic here what with our own human baby due in a weeks time and everything else that is going on like my cam belt snapping on our only car, not good when you will need to rush to the birthing unit!

Anyway Penny is settling in well she enjoys being part of the family and enjoys watching the kids run about like loony’s and dances as soon as they are around.

She has really taken to me and will sit on my arm and have a nice cuddle into me as you can see on the photos below. She is trusting me more and more which is great. She still won’t eat her fruit and veg unless i hold it for her cheeky monkey talk about make me work for her to eat! Ha ha

She is also OK with Rick and will sit on his arm for a stroke but not as loving towards him. She enjoys her palm oil on toast in the mornings and a good tickle. She spends the day out watching the world go by out the window and joining in with the children.

Hope you enjoy the new photos –

Check Out Penny's Moves!

Well Penny has been here a week now and she seems to be settling in well we are both able to stroke her fine and she has been saying hello to us a fair bit, she is a little fussy with her food and won’t eat any fruit or veg unless i hold it for her! She had a bit of pasta and some cucumber and apple while i hold it for her.

She loves the kids and them playing about in the front room and as soon as they start dancing she starts dancing! She can really move too, i had to get it on video for you all to see.

So here is Penny moving and grooving!!

Meet Penny – Green Wing Macaw

Meet Penny - Green Wing Macaw

This is Penny she is a 17 year old Green Wing Macaw and she came to us on Sunday with 2 African Grey’s that i will blog about after Penny.

She didn’t have the best start in life and had a calcium deficiency when she was a baby which has caused her to have weak legs and wings and a wonky beak so has to have her beak trimmed monthly and walks everywhere as she has never learn’t to fly.

She is 17 years old and has lived with her owners for most of her life apart from moving in with another lady about 12 years ago for about 6 months where she started plucking, her old owner then brought her back and took her home and tried to correct the plucking but she has been doing it ever since the move… she is totally bald on her belly and top of her back and wings and looks quite scruffy bless her.

She loves being out and about and watching the world go by and the children playing seems to keep her really amused, good job as we have 4 here!!

She gave me a little nip of my hand when we went to collect her but i expected that as she was in her home and i was someone strange, i am sure she will come round, she was very loving with her owner having kisses and cuddles and tucking her head into the lady for a big cuddle….so sweet!

She was re homed as the lady and her husband are now in there 60′s and 70′s and they wanted to make sure she went somewhere they they know she would be well looked after for years to come.

Here you will be able to follow Penny’s progress, here are a couple of photos of her –
