Well here we are 3 months in with luckie.She has settled so well into our famliy routine.When the sun is out ( which is not very often ) we put her cage in the garden where she sits with us singing and talking.
We have two places for her in our sitting room.In the daytime she is next to our patio doors and in the evening we move her to the other side of the room where she enjoys the telly with me.
Her party trick is opening my can of 7 up and also a can of beer.She counts to ten with my children and also sings the eastenders theme tune.
This weekend i have just treated her to loads of new toys for her cage which she is really enjoying.
She seems a very happy lady and we all love her dearly. X

Hi your bird sounds like she is in a very loving home for her to be singing along with your children shows she enjoys there company,You mentioned you put her by the patio doors in the daytime, I hope you dont mind me saying, ” please dont leave your parrot in full sunlight they can become too hot, also if there are any undesirables around looking for getting into a property when the home owner is out at work, if they see your parrot it will be quick bucks for them they dont have to go searching, and they will sell your bird on with out anyone asking were it has come from, a lot of birds have gone missing,please have some kind of alarm near your cage when your bird is also in the garden,it would be heart breaking to loose your bird now when she seems to be a strong family member.I hope you dont mind me pointing out these things, which are also pointed out in many bird books. x
hello jan,many thanks for your concerns.Firstly when i put her by the patio doors in the day the sun is not directly on her at any point,also when she is outside its in the shaded patio area.i would never leave her alone outside without me or my wife with her either.i am home 24/7 as well and with regards to someone trying to break in and take her,they would come pretty unstuck with regards to my guard dog which is a very territorial breed.so i hope this covers your valid points.
